Well, 2014 has quickly come and gone. Tomorrow we will officially be living in the future...according to Back to the Future. While I was putting together this year in review, it made me realize that this year was a really good one. I enjoyed looking back and seeing what all I experienced, what I was feeling, and what all I came through. That is one of the reasons I love blogging and journaling in general, it allows me to remember where I was and see how God was faithful in every step. And that is one truth I know I can take into the year 2015. My God is faithful.
So, thank you 2014 for all the experiences and memories you brought, it was a good year. Here's to hoping 2015 is just as good, possibly better.
January
My word and challenge for the new year was "wait." I started running and the journey to #Fit2014. There was a snowpocalypse. I was still living at home and decided to make it feel more like home by giving my room a makeover.
February
I talked about ways I could love others. Expressed my love for Jimmy Fallon. And talked about "Happily Ever After."
Celebrated Lent by reading the Gospels and praying for the nations. Got nominated for a Liebster Award. And talked more about my journey of waiting and feeling forgotten.
March
I celebrated the anniversary of my family becoming a family. I had the wonderful opportunity to co-host The Circle with Kiki. I remembered the Tuscaloosa Tornado and marveled at being worthy of God's grace.
April
May
I cut my hair, because summertime happened and took a mini vacation to Pensacola Beach. I gave a little behind the scenes look of Polished Arrow and transformed some of my favorite photos from color to black and white. I also talked about my love for the outdoors and reminisced about some of my travels.
June
Polished Arrow turned ONE! I talked about needing community and created a fake and fun resume after feeling defeated while job searching. Did a fun little Q&A. And stood beside my best friend as she got married.
July
I celebrated one of my favorite holidays. I leaned on my Rock and Redeemer and talked about living life in a small town.
August
I shared more of my testimony. Then, took the rest of the month off from blogging.
September
October
Shared a little bit of my apartment in the city with you guys. And thought about how fast life changes.
November
Did some more Q&A. Started a new blog series, #SnapshotsOfMobile.
December
I started sponsoring a teenager with Compassion. Anticipated the Christmas season and reflected on the birth of Christ, my Savior. And I turned 26.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for following along with me in 2014. Hope you will join me for 2015.

Every other Friday, I'm going to be sharing snapshots that I have taken in and around Mobile. Not only do I want to share with you guys this place, but it will help me to get out and explore. I love the idea of "snapshots", because sometimes they are quick and can be hurried, but always capture a memory. My photos may not always be perfect or frame-worthy, but I hope you enjoy them. I hope you enjoy seeing little glimpses of Mobile and I hope this encourages you to get out, explore your town, and take advantage of all your place may offer. This is #SnapshotsOfMobile. Enjoy!
The perfect start to Fall is a trip to the fair. And that is exactly what my roommate and I did at the beginning of November. I remember going to the fair all the time as a kid in Memphis. My sisters and I had a blast as we wanted to go on everything and probably multiple times. I was also a pro at throwing ping pong balls and winning goldfish. Since moving to Alabama, I haven't been back to a big fair very often. I remember taking my Bible study girls to a fair in college and we had a blast! This one was just the same. And the weather was absolutely perfect fall weather.
Looking back, did you kick start Fall in any special way?
Do you make an annual trip to the Fair when it comes to town?

Listening | Constantly to 1989 by TSwift. Her albums keep getting better and I have to admit, I'm happy she left the country scene. I will even admit that I bought the album twice. For my phone and for my car. #SwiftieAlert! My favorites from this album are Blank Space, Style, Bad Blood, and my most favorite, Wildest Dreams.
Watching | As of this moment, nothing. But, I did just watch the Chicago Fire Fall Finale yesterday. Now just waiting patiently (read: anxiously) for the Chicago P.D. finale. Any other Fire or P.D. fans around? I never thought I would get into Fire, but then I decided to randomly watch the first episode and I was hooked. Once P.D. was announced and I saw it had Sophia Bush, I knew I would be a fan. And I am. Wrapping | Sadly nothing yet, unless you include some blocks for one of my learning centers at school. But, I do have lots of fun ideas for gifts. So, hoping to mark that off the to-do list soon! Making | Pies and Breads. Which is not the best when I'm trying to eat nicely. But, some days I just want all the carbs. I recently made Banana Bread again and for Thanksgiving, I made an Apple Pie. It was so yummy. Southern Living cookbooks will never steer you wrong! Plus, the holidays are just a great time to bake. Anticipating | All things December! This is one of my most favorite months, not just because it's my birthday month, but it's just a fun month. It's full of tradition, family time, trees with lights in them, crisp and cold days and nights. It's just good. Also, I'm anxiously anticipating something in the mail, but more on that later when it actually arrives.
What have you currently been up to?

First comes Thanksgiving, then comes Black Friday, next Cyber Monday, and then Giving Tuesday. Have you heard about that last one? I will admit, I only just recently learned of it. Giving Tuesday is a global day that is dedicated to giving back. It was created in response to the consumerism that happens after Thanksgiving. And today, I'm going to share with you a great way to give back on this #GivingTuesday. Compassion International's mission is to be an advocate for children and release them from poverty. This can all start when they are babies. And today, on this Giving Tuesday, the whole Compassion family is joining together to help fund a brand new Child Survival Program in Gujarat, India. Nearly one in every three newborn deaths occurs in India. Helping to fund this center means we can train moms to help care for their babies. We can help mothers learn to read and write. We can give these children a safe place to grow and learn. And, we can help ensure lifesaving medical care for these babies and their moms, all while telling them about Jesus. Most of the deaths are from treatable and preventable causes, like malnutrition and dehydration. These children are vulnerable and need help in getting launched into childhood. And today on Giving Tuesday, we can help get them there. Today on Giving Tuesday, let's help launch this new Child Survival Program in a small community in India. Let's help give some little ones a chance and help their mothers become stronger. Let's help them see Jesus. Because your step today, could mean the first step for a child. Let's give back on this #GivingTuesday. Click here to donate and help rescue babies in India and help give them a first step! Donate and spread the word! Tweet, post, instagram, tag it all with #GivingTuesday. Want to sponsor a child? Click here. Follow Me :) Picture and facts received from Compassion International.
It's December! Can you believe it? Me either! In just 31 short days, this month will be over and with it another year. It is certainly hard to believe. But, December is one of my most favorite months. And not just because it's my birthday month, although that is a highlight of course. December brings tradition. It brings more time with family. Fun memories. Cozy nights spent by a fireplace or a Christmas tree. December brings the start of winter. Colder nights and crisp blue days. Bare winter trees full of white lights. December brings lit up houses. Snowmen. More scarves. Christmas music and Christmas cookies. December brings family parties. Packages wrapped all pretty. Laughter. December ushers in the start of Advent. The time where we intently look for our Savior, remember His first coming, and anticipate His arrival once more. 'O, come let us adore Him. Not only in this season, but in all seasons to come and all months of the year. Follow Me :)
