Guys, I'm just so excited that Fall is finally here! This morning I woke up and walked outside to be greeted with one of the prettiest skies I have seen in awhile. The blue sky, bright sun and the leaves falling down. It was just so great. Henry got to play with his new friend that has kept coming around lately. This cat belongs to our neighbor, but frequently makes it's way into our backyard. Henry and this cat are so much alike! Its a lot of fun to watch them play. Sorry, these aren't the best photos. I know these aren't the same size or shape...it's bothering me too. Some jets have been flying around this morning doing practice. We are only about two hours from the Air Force Base, so we get to hear a lot of practice from these guys. It's a lot of fun, especially when you end up finally spotting them up in the sky! I was looking and looking and never saw them, then came out a couple minutes later and saw about two or three up in the sky! They are the ultimate stealth ninjas. I had a video of the jets, well the sound of them, but I can't find a way to upload it since it's from my phone. I got a couple of new books recently. I've just decided that I absolutely love science fiction, young adult, and dystopia stories. Combine those all together and I will be absolutely hooked! Which may explain why I feel in love with The Hunger Games trilogy. I never read them in middle/high school like some of my friends and I'm so sad I didn't! So, I recently got book one of The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collins. It's definitely for a younger audience, but so far, I love it! I also got the first book in The Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. This one has been compared to the Hunger Games and is slated for a movie next year. Needless to say, I'm excited to get lost in some books. Read: bookworm. It looks like us here in Alabama have our first tropical storm/hurricane of the season coming to us. Tropical Storm Karen is in the Gulf of Mexico right now and is making a beeline for Mobile Bay. Which means it could potentially head straight for my town or east of us. Storms can get pretty big while they are churning in the Gulf, but this one is still too far out to determine what it will be once it hits land. My first hurricane was Hurricane Ivan in 2004. At it's strongest it was a Category 5, but when it finally hit the coast of Alabama, it was a Category 3. I was still in high school and I remember staying at the hospital waiting out the storm. The eye of that hurricane came directly through my town and I remember us standing outside during that small calm and then watching the trees start to swirl again. For the next week we had no power and it was like camping out on an extended vacation. I don't think this one will be as intense, but I'll keep you guys posted. Well guys, I'm going to go read some blogs and then maybe set up my hammock and read some books. Gotta get some hang time in before all the rain comes! Life is good, you guys. I hope you are able to enjoy today and have a beautiful time! Do something fun! Be encouraged! Call a friend! Create something! Enjoy life. Follow Me :)
