I've hinted at a new job at a coffee shop a few times, so I figured it was finally time to let you guys in on the news!
My pastor's wife has always had the dream of opening up a coffee shop. Well, she is finally doing it! She is starting from the ground up and has asked me to join her. So, I have started training as a barista! It is only a part time job that pays minimum wage, but hey, nowadays, you take what comes to you. I honestly never saw myself working in a coffee shop. I'm usually the one that hangs out in them all day reading books and surfing Pinterest. ha But, this is something much more than just a coffee shop. This is going to be a ministry and that is the part I'm most excited about. My boss loves people. And she loves to serve. This shop is just another way for her to serve her community. And that is something that I've been searching for ever since I moved back home. As you guys know, moving back home was never what I thought would happen, but it has. And ever since being home, I've been praying for a way to get more involved with my church here again and the community. The Lord works in amazing ways right? What better way? I can't think of one. I'm very excited for this opportunity and for what this coffee shop can mean for our town and the people. And there is a way that you can be involved! You can PRAY. As we know, opening up a business is hard, especially at the beginning. Please pray that we will be successful, that people will enjoy the shop, that we (the workers) can be a bright spot in someone's day, that everyone who comes to our shop will feel special and loved and most importantly that they will see the love of Christ. Don't worry, I will definitely keep you guys updated on this fun adventure! :)
Last weekend the parents and I also went to Memphis to hang out with family and friends! Here's the short version so we can get straight to the photos!
Late arrival (about 2 AM), hanging out with my big sister and lots of family, a cook out, cuddling with the nephews, watching some football, my sister got baptized by our Dad! Lunch with the family, going to see my best friend and watch as she found her wedding dress! Visiting more family and celebrating lots of birthdays, trying to find Thai food with Dad (unsuccessful), visited the apartment we first lived in as a family, and saw the movie Gravity! Enjoy the photos! :)
This was definitely one the best trips to Memphis in awhile! It was so good to see everyone since being back and of course spending that time with one of my best friends.
Hope you guys have been having some great and fun weekends! It is Fall of course, one the best times of the season. Enjoy it! :) Follow Me :)
